PUNC Curriculum - ROTATION ONE

All PUNC participants must complete the basic rotation.

At the start of the Basic Rotation, the participant will learn basic skills and principles needed to work on a film or television set safely. After that a hands-on Production Assistant Workshop must be completed. This rotation must be completed prior to being placed on any set. 

 The participant will then be placed as a paid Production Assistant on approved productions, until they complete a minimum aggregate time of 20 production days working on a minimum of two different productions. Each assignment will be assessed by the participant’s immediate supervisor, and an interview with the mentor.

Courses:

Set Etiquette & Terminology - 1 hour online Course, with materials.

Set Operations & Safety - set structure & hierarchy, departmental structures, scripted vs unscripted vs film vs theatre, how the set functions, set security, studio shoots versus location shoots.

Production Assistant Workshop - call sheet reading & creation, solving talent issues, proper communication and common communications issues, safety and solving safety issues, personal responsibility, working within the hierarchy.
