The Producing Unique New Creators (PUNC) program seeks out those from diverse backgrounds, who are determined to make their statement in the world of film and/or theater, as producers or directors. The PUNC program itself is designed for small groups and focused on the individual's goals and strengths.
The film and theater industries are notoriously tough, and remain largely "closed" to those who are not already connected to insiders. Moreover, there has never been a comprehensive career preparation and training path for those who want to create their own projects. especially in film. To succeed, it takes not only creative vision, but commitment and an entrepreneurial mindset. Consequently, we seek individuals of any background who impress us as having the talent, intelligence and mindset to succeed in this very tough industry. The selection process involves (1) initial application, followed up with (2) a panel interview by program leaders, and then (3) formal acceptance into the program, which requires the trainee to commit to it's completion.
The PUNC program does not charge selected trainees for the program (though courses are available to public at a low cost).
If you want to apply for the PUNC program, or know someone who might, the application form is here.
